I spent a weekend in New Orleans due to some airline miles I had that were expiring. Stayed in the French Quarter and took in most of the touristy things. Ate crawfish, walked Bourbon Street, went to Cafe Du Monde and rode the St. Charles Ave streetcar. Also visited the WWII museum and Audobon Aquarium. For only being 2 days, I certainly packed a lot in and had a great trip!

First race of the 2009 season! In a blizzard no less. It was cold, it was windy, and it was snowing. The snow actually froze into my beard. Ran it in 29:29, or a 9:29 pace. I was again, a minute off my previous pace from last year, but the weather was a lot worse this year and once again, no prep work went into this race. As soon as the official results are posted, I’ll get them up here.
I ran a decent 5k on Thanksgiving morning with no preparation or training. I came in 198th out of 674 to rank in the 29th percentile overall. I ran at an 8:50 min/mile pace but this is a little misleading as I had to walk a little after running the first two in 16 minutes flat.
